Native to Southwestern North America, yerba mansa was introduced to the early Spanish settlers by the local Native American peoples who used it to treat many conditions including lung, liver and gall bladder conditions. To this day many local curanderas (Mexican traditional healers) include yerba mansa in their healing formulas. The plant is often said to have magical qualities that provide protection and give strength to the body, mind and spirit.
