Botanical Name: Commiphora myrrh (aka C. molmol)
Myrrh is a resin gathered from the Commiphora tree. It is often powdered or used as an essential oil to help heal wounds, ease joint pain, or soothe abdominal or uterine pain. It has powerful antiseptic properties.
One of the three gifts of the Magi to the newborn baby Jesus, and used as an embalming agent in ancient Egypt, Myrrh has long been a symbol of mortality, humanity, and the power of transformation
