Plantain is an herb that has been supremely popular in Native American cultures, even though it originates from Europe and Asia. Brought to the Americas by early settlers as a food and medicine the Native American’s quickly realized the plant’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties making it useful for treating a wide variety of ailments and injuries. It’s leaves are edible and can also be used in a poultice to help soothe insect and snake bites. Reminder!
