In the Northern Hemisphere, it is still the season for harvesting fresh evening primrose, aka sun drop. Often used as a cure-all medicine that is loaded with GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), an Omega-6 fatty acid, known for improving heart health, diabetes, premenstrual disorders, improving brain function, and much more. It is often less remembered that it is also an edible plant. It is full of nutritious vitamins and minerals that will help keep you strong and healthy. The leaves, stalks, and roots can all be eaten. Add the fresh picked leaves to your salads and the roots can be cooked with garlic for a tasty side dish or added to other in-season vegetables.
