There are 3 key secrets to feeling better that are often overlooked. They lay at the heart of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and are therefore core aspects of healing and finding True Health.

They are…

1. Inaction or Going with the Flow (Not doing). Fighting against the flow can cause stress, which causes illness, inflammation, agitation, unrest, and sleepless nights. Stop trying. Stop doing. Be still and let the flow carry you.

2. Simplicity, Spontaneity, or Living in Harmony with Nature. Caught up in thinking, thinking, thinking, you lose spontaneity and simplicity. You become out of harmony with the flow of natural life around you, the wind, the sun, herbs, nourishing foods, your community, and loved ones. Your capacity for easeful, appropriate responsiveness can be vastly reduced. You become disconnected from yourself and others. No harmony. Complicated. Disconnected.

3. Compassion. Once disconnected, you can become shut down, angry, defensive, and protective against attacks you are sure will come. Your immune system starts to work overtime, cortisol fills your system, you frown a lot, and move too fast. You don’t sleep well. Sometimes you simply collapse and hide deep under your blankets hoping no one will call or find you. You have no time for yourself or others. You become numb.

Just STOP! Grow quiet and still, if you can, sit near a tree or the ocean, or the wide-open spaces of country terrains (whatever your area provides), even a potted plant in your home can work. Allow yourself to feel emptied. Then take a series of deep, gentle breaths.

Allow yourself to hear what is rattling around in your head and feel what is clutching at your heart. Keep breathing. Let the breezes of your breath carry your cares away. As you quiet down and reconnect with yourself, your inaction, your simplicity coupled with the natural environment around you will strengthen your ability to just be in the moment, this will then open you up to being filled with your own natural abilities for compassion. For yourself and others. You’ll feel a moment of True Health saturating your heart and leaving you feeling refreshed.

Nature is a gift. She can work magic. Go be in nature or near nature. You are a part of nature so being with her is a way to reconnect with yourself on a primal and deep level without any effort at all. No doing. Just being.

Using these 3 key secrets can help you stay healthy and experience True Health. Try one or all, they can completely re-inspire you and help you reset your course.
