DID YOU KNOW?
Thymol does not stimulate the liver to increase bile production. The compound thymol is an active constituent in bergamot (bee balm). Thymol is also found in oil of thyme and common thyme. Thymol is a natural antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal agent. The ancient Egyptians did derive thymol from thyme to use in their mummification preparations. Compounds known as biocides are indeed known for their antibiotic properties and thymol is in this naturally occurring class of biocidic compounds. Thymol is also used by pharmaceutical companies to stabilize various drug preparations.
