DID YOU KNOW?
Salicin is a natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic (reduces pain). Your body turns salicin into salicylic acid reducing the production of pain-inducing chemicals in your nerves. Salicylic acid also reduces the production of certain prostaglandins (hormone-like substances that control your immune system and fight inflammation.) Salicin is an alcoholic β-glucoside (A glycoside that is derived from glucose. Many toxins in the body bind to these glucose (sugar) molecules making the toxins (that can cause inflammation), easy to eliminate from the body.) Salicin is produced in and named after willow (Salix) bark.
