Esculetin does NOT improve or aid lactation for pregnant women. The compound esculetin (found in the bark of the ash tree) is a sedating, antitussive, anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant, expectorant and antiasthmatic constituent. It is also a coumarin derivative showing chemopreventive and chemotherapeutic abilities. It is also being studied for its usefulness in treating the complications associated with diabetes.
